The costly call

Three deadlines, and a forecast that answers none of them

The deposit comes due about two weeks out, the tent company wants an answer three to five days out, and the Plan B flip has to be called hours before the ceremony. A "40% chance of rain" for the whole day doesn't say whether 5–6 pm will be dry.

What you get

Built for wedding and event planners, venues, tent-rental companies, festival and fair organisers

  • Rain-plan deadlines

A countdown for each event date: tent deposit, tent order and the day-of rain call, with the odds the ceremony holds at each one.

  • Tent gust check

Gusts during the reception checked against the wind rating you enter for your tent.

  • Guest comfort

Heat index and wind chill odds for the event hours, from the ceremony to the last dance.

  • Ground and setup

Soft-lawn and parking risk from rain in the 48 hours before the event.

  • Tent install and strike

Daylight windows calm and dry enough to raise or take down tents, flooring and lighting.

  • Festival, fireworks and load-in

Windows for gates-open days, fireworks and open flame, and vendors moving in and out.

The events it times

  • Outdoor ceremony window

The ceremony itself: guests seated outside, no cover. A trace of rain counts as wet; gusts are checked against arches, décor and sound. Set your event date in Setup to see that day.

    2-hour window

  • Tented reception

Dinner and dancing under a frame, pole or sailcloth tent. Light rain is what the tent is for; heavy rain floods floors and sidewalls. Gust limit: 30 mph default — enter your tent's rating. Set your event date in Setup to see that day.

    5-hour window

  • Tent install / strike day

The crew raising or taking down tents, flooring and lighting. Fabric is a sail while it is going up; stakes need firm ground and trucks need to stay off soft lawn.

    8-hour window · daylight only

  • Outdoor festival day

Gates open to close at a fair, festival or outdoor concert, with stages and video walls up.

    10-hour window

  • Fireworks / open flame

Fireworks display, sparkler send-off, fire pits or open candles outside. Your licensed display operator and permit set the real limit.

    1-hour window

  • Load-in / load-out

Vendors, rentals, catering and band gear moving in or out.

    4-hour window

Questions

Asked before you start

How is this different from a weather app?

A weather app gives one forecast for the day. This checks your exact ceremony hours in each of up to 146 forecast runs and gives the share that stay dry and under your wind limit.

Is 14 days out reliable?

It is an early lean. The card says so and won't show green before 7 days out.

Can I keep a record to share with my team or an insurer?

Yes. Log the window you chose and the decision log keeps the verdict, the share of forecast runs that passed and the conditions the forecast showed, with your note, ready to export as CSV. Rain insurance is bought earlier than the forecast reaches.

Does it warn me about lightning?

No. Lightning and radar are not in the data; use a lightning service and the NWS on the day.

What data does it use?

It pools up to 146 forecast runs from three independent forecast systems for rain, wind, gusts, temperature and humidity, judges them run by run and refreshes them through the day.
